The APOD team had the pleasure of spending time with the Defence community at RAAF Base Edinburgh and the Repat Health Precinct — two incredible events filled with connection, shared stories, and genuine appreciation.
It was fantastic to meet APOD members and Defence families face-to-face and hear how they’re using their membership to save on everyday essentials. Fuel, groceries, and white goods remain firm favourites, and it’s always inspiring to see how these savings make a meaningful difference for families who give so much in service and support.
Many members also shared valuable feedback about the APOD App, which we’ll be using to continue refining features and improving the overall experience with each update.

The annual family day at RAAF Base Edinburgh brought together ADF personnel, Australian Public Service members, contractors, and their families for an afternoon of community spirit and connection. The event celebrated not only those who serve, but also the families who stand beside them.
APOD was proud to participate alongside organisations including Invictus Australia, Veterans SA, and Operation Unity SA. Our marquee was a hive of activity, with kids enjoying the Nerf games while parents connected with our team, sharing their favourite offers and experiences using the APOD App.
A huge thank you to SQNLDR Knopke and WGCDR Keane from No. 24 (City of Adelaide) Airbase Operations Squadron for the warm invitation and for recognising the vital role Defence families play within the community.
We also joined Defence Families Day at the Veteran Wellbeing Centre at the Repat Health Precinct, where current and former serving members came together for a day of connection and support.
It was a privilege to meet so many families, reconnect with long-time APOD members, and welcome new members joining for the first time. Visitors to our marquee enjoyed learning about new offers, sharing their experiences, and discovering even more ways to save through the APOD App.
The day was filled with warmth, gratitude, and a strong sense of community — a powerful reminder of the connections that exist between Defence families and the organisations that support them.
We left both events feeling inspired and grateful for the opportunity to be part of such meaningful moments within the Defence community.
